Market Recap
Google ($GOOGL) & Amazon ($AMZN) Ink Nuclear Power Deals
Google ($GOOGL) inks deal with Kairos Power to build seven small nuclear reactors, aiming to generate 500 megawatts of power by the end of the decade. The push is to secure carbon-free energy to meet the growing electricity demands of AI and data centers.
Amazon Web Services announced it has signed an agreement with Dominion Energy ($D), Virginia’s utility company, to explore the development of a small modular nuclear reactor near Dominion’s existing North Anna nuclear power station.
These deals mark a big step for the industry. Mag 7 tech companies are driving demand for energy resources to power AI, potentially bringing a nuclear revival in the U.S.
Walgreens ($WBA) to Close a Ton of Stores in 3 Years
Walgreens will close 1,200 U.S. stores over the next three years to restructure its struggling business. Despite reporting a $3 billion quarterly loss, the company exceeded expectations for earnings and revenue, with quarterly revenue hitting $35.75 billion.
Walgreens, like its competitors CVS and Rite Aid, face increasing competition from online retailers and dollar stores. The closures are part of a broader industry trend as traditional pharmacies struggle with tighter prescription reimbursements and rising operational costs.
$WBA share price is down over 80% over the past 5 years. With store theft, a declining footprint, and other companies taking over the telehealth/e-commerce health world its tough to see an abundant future for physical pharmacies drug stores.

Freedom Fund Background: I created the Freedom Fund as a public brokerage account back in October of 2022 to share that anyone with a social security # and a bank account can begin their investing journey by investing a couple hundred dollars a week. Every week and month I post on X (@GrahamInvesting) public updates about the purchases, exits, dividends, and growth of the fund if you want to follow in real time. The biggest obstacle people have to investing is just getting started so I decided to start a new account at $0 to start from nothing with you.
Quote of The Week
This week I heard Chris Bumstead talk about his retirement after the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding championship on the truth about life’s journey. Often, the rewards we strive for turn out not to be the true source of fulfillment. It is within the process of striving, the resilience, the mindset we develop along the way that give our lives meaning. Success is often seen as external achievements, but we realize that the inner transformation and lessons learned were the real prizes. This shift in perspective reminds us to appreciate the journey and the development we experience, rather than becoming consumed by the end goals. Ultimately, it is our mindset and strength that define true success.
